    Conversion of Commercial Space into a Residential Studio – 60 sq.m. – 2019

The existing space, formerly a leather goods store, was completely transformed into a functional and comfortable 60 sq.m. studio. A key design challenge was the management of natural light, as the only façade exposed to daylight was the one facing the street.

A new front façade was constructed using translucent glass panels, allowing natural light to filter into the interior while preserving privacy from the outside.

The ground floor was organized as an open-plan layout, incorporating a living area and kitchen. A metallic structure was used to extend the existing mezzanine, which now accommodates a comfortable bedroom and a full bathroom. In the bathroom, the metal design language was retained, and glazed elements were incorporated to enhance light diffusion, given the limited access to natural light sources.

The final result is a contemporary living space that maximizes available daylight and redefines the use of a former commercial shell through minimal yet efficient architectural interventions.
